YANOS started the production of road asphalt in compliance with the new interstate standard
In June-August 2017 JSC “Slavneft-YANOS” has shipped the first 3 thousand tons of road asphalt, BND 70/100 grade, manufactured in accordance with the new GOST 33133-2014. For September the Refinery scheduled the production of 1.5 thousand tons of the road asphalt.
The new standard GOST 33133-2014 which came into effect on the territory of the Customs Union states covers viscous petroleum road asphalts. They function as the binding substance for the construction and repair works of the road covering layers and base and also as the basis for the production of modified bitumen and emulsified bitumen. This standard came into effect on September 1, 2016. Unlike the previous standard, GOST 22245-90 and European standard EN 12591:2009 it substantially increases the requirements to the bitumen quality in regards to viscous, temperature and plastic properties and resistance to ageing. Bitumen developed in accordance with the new quality standard shall extend the period of traffic roads service life from 5 to 12 years.
JSC “Slavneft-YANOS” started the work on the asphalt production in compliance with the new GOST standard in the year 2015. As per the confirmed schedule of the activities required for this target, the group of specialists from the Research Laboratory developed the corresponding formulations for the road asphalts. For evaluating the asphalts quality in accordance with the new standard the special equipment is used – RTFOT machine with the help of which it is possible to determine quickly the change of the temperature and weight of the sample after ageing. Refinery Research Laboratory possesses the unique laboratory resources which allow to perform the tests not only for the Refinery needs but also for the similar plants and take into account the preferences of the customers in the course of developing the advanced asphalts grades.
