The experts of competition council defined the best projects presented by Russian researchers in 2022 and which had the goal to develop the activities in the Arctic and on the continental shelf.
The work of researchers from Slavneft-YANOS PJSC «Development and production of the first batch in the world of diesel fuel with the usage at temperature up to minus 65°C» was highly appreciated by the experts of the competition which included the leading scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, representatives of federal executive authorities, leading scientific, research, design and project institutes and organizations of Russia. The team of Oil Refinery authors (Karpov Nikolay Vladimirovich, Vakhromov Nikolay Nikolayevich, Bubnov Maksim Alexandrovich, Gudkevich Igor Vladimirovich, Dutlov Eduard Valentinovich, Borisanov Dmitry Vladimirovich) was awarded with the laureates Diplomas of the competition.
54 works from 42 organizations were submitted to the competition in 2022. All of them are related to the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and contribute to the «Fundamentals of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in the Arctic for the period of time till 2035» approved by Decree of President of Russian Federation of March 5, 2020 No. 164 and also cover a wide range of scientific, technical and industrial tasks with the aim of development of hydrocarbon resources of the Arctic shelf.
The Ministry of Defence set the goal to create the arctic diesel fuel with the usage temperature up to minus 65°C in 2014. Slavneft-YANOS PJSC started the research activities for creation of this kind of fuel in 2017. The Oil Refinery developed the process for production of arctic fuel according to the requirements of Military Authority in 2018. The method for iso-dewaxing of diesel fuel at the Unit LTS-24/7 was used at production of this fuel.
The first in the world batch of the diesel fuel with the unique temperature properties was produced at Slavneft-YANOS PJSC in October 2021.
The development of resources in the Arctic and on the continental shelf is one of the basis of the state policy in Russian Federation. It is planned that the polar region will become the country’s leading strategic resource base in the nearest future. It is not possible to achieve this goal without the usage of different machines that should be provided with the high-quality fuel with the unique properties.
The researchers and the team of YANOS implemented the whole range of the measures to provide the country with the fuel needed. Slavneft-YANOS PJSC has developed by now the standard for the civil option of the fuel – the General Manager of the oil refinery Nikolay Karpov told.
Chairman of the expert commission for competition and the member of Academy of Science A.E. Kontorovich in his article about results of the competition underlined the importance of YANOS research results for development of Arctic and continental shelf.
