The Head of the Research and Development Laboratory of JSC “Slavneft-YANOS” received an award in nomination “Engineer of the Year 2014”
On February 19th the festive awarding of the winners of the XVth Russian Federation competition "Engineer of the Year 2014" took place at the premises of the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Organizations (Moscow).
In industrial nomination "Oil and Gas Industry" (downstream) the title "Engineer of the Year" among the professional Engineers was awarded to the Head of the Research and Development Laboratory of JSC "Slavneft-YANOS" Dmitriy V. Borisanov. Together with the other winners he was awarded with commemorative medal, lapel pin and a diploma. His name was included into a special register of Russian professional Engineers.
Dmitriy V. Borisanov has been working at YANOS since the year 1985 after he graduated from the Technical University in Yaroslavl. He had worked in different workshops and departments of the Refinery and since year 2006 he is the Head of the Research and Development Laboratory of the Refinery. The new technologies of hydrogen sulfide extraction from the fuel oil, production of winter diesel fuel by means of separate processing of light and heavy cuts and upgrading of demercaptanization processes were developed under Dmitriy V. Borisanov guidance and were implemented into the process units operation with his active participation. Dmitriy V. Borisanov is the author of eight published scientific research essays and ten licensed patents of the Russian Federation. At present he is the Head of the State Professional Licensing Board of the Yaroslavl State Technical University for the field of "Chemical Processes".
The annual Russian competition "Engineer of the year" is recognized by the engineering association of the country and is substantially supported by the executives of the regions and by the Government of the Russian Federation. It is targeted at revealing the best Engineers of the country, popularization of the art of engineering, promotion of the achievements and experience and attracting attention of the State Institutes to the problems of the engineering business in Russia. This competition has two versions: "The Art of Engineering for the Youth" - for young specialists under the age of 30 and "Professional Engineers" - for the participants of the competition who have experience of working as Engineers not less than 5 years. The Head of the Board of Juries is Yu.V.Gulyaev, the President of the Academy of Engineering Sciences named after A.M.Prokhorov, the Head of the Russian and International Unions of the National Institute of Education, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Organizations is one of the most prominent scientific associations in Russia.
