From January 2012, all motor fuels produced by YaNOS will meet the Euro-4/ Euro-5 standards

From January 2012, OAO Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez (YaNOS), the Slavneft's key Refinery, intends to stop producing motor fuels, which do not conform to the Euro-4/ Euro-5 environmental standards. Next year the Subsidiary plans to manufacture, in the aggregate, 2.44 mln tons of Euro-4 compliant motor gasolines, including Super Euro-98, Premium Euro-95, Regular-92 grades. Moreover, the Refinery expects to produce over 4 mln tons of diesel oil, of which 2.8 mln tons will comply with the Euro-5 standard.

YaNOS is among the industry leaders in manufacturing high-quality motor fuels. The Refinery is among the first in Russia, which managed to master production of Euro-3 motor gasoline (2005), Euro-4/ Euro-5 diesel oil (2005 and 2007 respectively). In 2011, YaNOS started production of Euro-4 compliant gasoline. The Refinery was completely ready to manufacture motor fuels in accordance with the requirements set forth in the initial version of the Technical Regulations, which was adopted by the RF Government in 2008. That version envisages tighter deadlines for transition to the new quality standards as compared to the revised version. The Subsidiary succeeded in achieving such a result due to systematic upgrading of the production facilities.

The large-scale Upgrading Program has being implemented at YaNOS for more than 10 years. During 2002 - 2010 Slavneft invested over 1.5 bln USD in the Refinery's development. Over this period 17 large production facilities, including the Deep Oil Processing Plant, were constructed and revamped at the Subsidiary. The Deep Oil Processing Plant consists of the Hydrocracking, Visbreaking and Catalytic Reforming Units.

This year the capital investments in YaNOS's upgrading will make 310 mln USD. In October 2011, the Isomalk, C5-C6 Fractions Isomerization Unit was commissioned within the current Investment Program. In the near future, the Subsidiary plans to complete construction of the Cat-Cracked Gasoline Hydrotreatment Unit.

The Action Plan implemented at YaNOS enables the Refinery to fulfill all the requirements of the new (revised) Technical Regulations for motor fuel production and to stop manufacturing oil products, which do not comply with the high environmental standards, three years earlier the deadlines prescribed by the RF Government.
